Project ELAN, Fuerth, Germany

The German Organisation ELAN, based in Fuerth, Germany, stands for Enter (“Einsteigen”), Learn (“Lernen”), Work (“Arbeiten”), Realign (“Neuorientieren”) and aims to give underpriviledged youths from the area equal access to education as well as support them with (re)entering gainful employment.

Since 2013/2014, ELAN has also had the task of carrying out the vocational part of the preparation course during the job integration year. Their provisions enable young asylum seekers and refugees to take part in German classes and to start vocational training for a jobb including socio-pedagogical assistance.

To make sure that the students from the integration classes do not go hungry (as there is no lunch offer at the school) and enable them to cook one to two times per week with their designated sponsors, Charity Cat has given EUR 500 to the organisation.
