Founded in 2005, the organisation Kahuza e.V. in Halle (Saale), Germany, helps children and young people from socially disadvantaged families. In the organisation’s house, the children can have a free warm meal, get help with their homework or take part in different extracurricular activities. All of this is free of charge.

“A lot of the families can’t even afford the bare necessities and even those parents who have a job have to stretch every penny,” explains Tina Witkowski, the organisation’s founder. “They simply don’t have the money to pay for things like private tuition, a computer or sports ? all things we provide to the kids for free!”

“One thing is for sure: Ms Witkowski lives for this organisation,” said Charity Cat member Sonja after her visit in Halle, “It’s impressive what is done here and how they are fighting to give the children a better life.”

Charity Cat’s first donation consisted od a couple of boxes filled with children’s clothing, shoes, balls and bags. The second one was a financial donation, which was already used to purchase a table and chairs for the smallest children.
